What is True Fee?

Modified on Tue, 8 Sep at 4:35 PM

True Fee is the rate of the provider compared against the current market rate, expressed as a percentage. One number for the real cost of an offer.

The rate of the provider is the rate your transaction is processed at, gateway fee included. The current market rate is the live price of the asset. The gap between the two is what the purchase costs you, and it covers both the provider fee and the network fee.

An example

You buy $100 of Bitcoin and a provider quotes:

  • 1 BTC = $111,869
  • BTC you receive: 0.0008939

Against the market rate at that moment, the difference works out at 3.18%. That is the True Fee. The offer already shows what you pay, what you receive, and the fee amount inside it. The percentage is what makes two offers comparable at a glance.
